Refined Sunflower Oil is perfectly clean oil, which preserves all nutrients when produced. It can be used in with extremely high cooking temperatures. Margarine and cooking fats are made of refined sunflower. It is also used in the manufacturing of canned food, as well as soap and in the paint and varnish industry.
It can be best used at low temperatures e.g. in mayonnaise and dressings. High oleic sunflower oil, a special variety has only 5 % polyunsaturated fatty acids and 80 % or more of oleic acid. High oleic sunflower oil (HOS) is used in applications where oxidation stability is required, or in special nutritional blends like infant formulas.
